Zini Red 2022 comes from Burgenland, Austria, where winemaker Andreas Ziniel farms his family’s land using organic and regenerative practices. The Ziniels have been tending these vineyards for generations, but Andreas brings a fresh perspective to winemaking, crafting wines with a focus on balance, drinkability, and a true sense of place. Zini Red is a co-ferment of Zweigelt and St. Laurent — two classic Austrian varieties that come together beautifully in this unfined, unfiltered wine. It’s lively and medium-bodied, with notes of dark cherry, plum, and blackcurrant, plus a hint of something savory, like olive tapenade. There’s a touch of earthiness and spice that keeps things interesting, but it’s never heavy or overpowering.
