Sandhi 'Central Coast' Chardonnay

From the winemaker:

I am so proud of our first release of Central Coast Chardonnay. I traveled far to find new vineyards that would improve on our Santa Barbara County Chardonnay. Our vineyard sources are now mostly planted to older vines across a broader array of microclimates and soils. This brings character and depth to the 2019 Central Coast Chardonnay. I also chose to partner with growers who don’t use herbicides or chemical fertilizers. This is not just a philosophical choice, it also yields wines with more energy and complexity. Many of the farmers I work with are second and third-generation growers. Their knowledge of the land is the starting point for the purity, focus, and concentration in this wine. I believe ‘terroir’ includes human’s interaction with the land and the 2019 Central Coast Chardonnay is a prime example of what happens when farmers, vineyards, and winemakers come together. A wine that reflects extraordinary old-vine California Chardonnay captured through the lens of low intervention winemaking.
