Oka Japanese Rice Vodka
Oka Japanese Rice Vodka
OKA VODKA is a premium Japanese spirit produced by OKA BRAND, crafted at the Tsutsumi Distillery in the Kumamoto Prefecture of Kyushu, Japan. This vodka is meticulously distilled from 100% rice, reflecting the region's rich agricultural heritage.
The production of OKA VODKA involves several key steps:
Fermentation: The rice undergoes a fermentation period of 7 to 10 days using sake brewer’s yeast, which imparts unique flavors reminiscent of ginjo sake
Distillation: The fermented mash is distilled five times in a copper-lined, stainless steel pot still. This method ensures a high level of purity and a smooth, refined spirit.
Filtration: The vodka is filtered through binchō-tan, an artisanal Japanese charcoal made from obame oak, known for its exceptional purity with a carbon content of 98.8%. This filtration process enhances the vodka's clarity and imparts a clean, crisp finish.
OKA VODKA offers a delicate and nuanced flavor profile:
-
Aroma: Faintly sweet and floral notes reminiscent of ginjo sake.
-
Palate: Floral characteristics of its rice base, with hints of green apple, citrus peel, and white flowers.
-
Finish: Dry and clean, making it suitable for contemporary cocktails or enjoying neat.
