Maison Noir In Sheep's Clothing Cabernet 2023
Maison Noir In Sheep's Clothing Cabernet 2023
Bold, polished, and unmistakably cool, In Sheep’s Clothing Cabernet Sauvignon - from one of our favorite winemakers EVER, André Hueston Mack of Maison Noir - delivers ripe black fruit: cassis, blueberry, and black cherry, all wrapped in classic Cabernet structure. A hint of wood smoke and a savory blend of anise, thyme, and bay leaf add depth and complexity, balancing New World richness with Old World restraint. This is the kind of wine that wins over everyone - from your parents to your geekiest wine pals.
Sommelier-turned-winemaker Mack has built a cult following with his Maison Noir “garage wines” or vin de garage, a term that refers to small-production wines made outside the traditional winemaking establishment - often literally in a garage! The movement started in the 1990s in Bordeaux with winemakers rebelling against big, conventional châteaux by crafting intense, high-quality wines in tiny quantities with a hands-on, no-rules approach.
This is exactly the kind of wine we live for, crafted with so much care and bursting with personality!
