Freimeister Kollektiv Doppelwacholder 052 Juniper Spirit
Freimeister Kollektiv Doppelwacholder 052 Juniper Spirit
In 1970, the Liebl family, having established a wine and spirits wholesale business from a small grocery store in Bad Kötzting in the Bavarian Forest, launched their own brand products: “Bärwurz,” “Böhmischer Wind,” “Höllensteiner,” and “Latschenwacholder” (mountain pine juniper). Continuing their deep-rooted tradition of distilling botanicals and juniper, the Liebls collaborated with Gerhard Liebl and Freimeisterkollektiv on their first project, creating Doppelwacholder 052. This spirit, crafted by one of Germany's most decorated distillers, is straightforward yet complex. It features dominant fresh juniper berry flavors, but with a fresh twist of citrus, subtle sweetness, and gentle floral notes instead of the typical harsh resinous juniper. The Doppelwacholder 052 can be enjoyed neat and also serves as an ideal base for classic gin cocktails.
