Forthave Amaro FOUR

Forthave Amaro FOUR

FOUR is a limited edition seasonal aperitif produced by Forthave Spirits in Brooklyn, New York. This liqueur features over 20 botanicals, including dried gentian root from Massif Central in France, lavender flowers from Goode Farm in New York, cherry blossoms from the Hudson Valley, elderflower, chamomile, and rose petals. The base distillate is a certified organic, non-GMO sugarcane spirit from Brazil. The gentian is macerated in steel tanks for several months, and all botanicals are either macerated or distilled in a 400-liter bain-marie hybrid pot still. The final blend is sweetened with French grape must and raw cane sugar, then rested for several months before bottling. Aromas of elderflower, hay, and freesia precede a spike of gentian bitterness on the palate, bookended by kumquats and a hint of wild strawberries, followed by a finish of linen and subtle lavender. Only 2412 bottles were produced. FOUR celebrates gentian-forward apéritifs of France, combining imported and local botanicals, representing nearly four years of research and development by Forthave Spirits.
