Favonius Curtimenta Skin Contact
Favonius Curtimenta Skin Contact
This skin-contact white, or "orange wine," captures the coastal influence of the Atlantic winds that shape the vineyards of Lisboa. Named after Favonius, the Roman god of the west wind, this wine reflects the freshness and energy of its maritime climate.
Made from 90% Fernão Pires and 10% Arinto, the grapes undergo 12 days of skin contact, resulting in a wine with golden hues, textural depth, and vibrant aromatics. Expect notes of ripe citrus, stone fruit, and a touch of wild herbs, along with a subtle funky complexity often found in natural wines. On the palate, it’s balanced, fresh, and playful, with flavors reminiscent of Haribo gummy bears, zesty orange peel, and a hint of salinity from the ocean breeze.
Unfined and unfiltered, this wine is a great choice for those who enjoy expressive, minimal-intervention wines. Pair it with tapas, grilled seafood, or creamy cheeses, or simply enjoy it on its own for a taste of the Atlantic coast. Serve slightly chilled.
