Founded in 1888 by Pietro Bordiga, a skilled bartender and herbalist, the Bordiga distillery in Torino, Italy, remains renowned for its handcrafted vermouth, gin, and herbal liqueurs. Using local botanicals and the original copper pot-still from its inception, Bordiga continues to follow Pietro’s time-honored recipes. The herbs used, such as gentian, juniper, and chamomile, are handpicked from the nearby Alps by local mountaineers at peak potency, ensuring the highest quality infusions.

Bordiga Pastis is a traditional Italian anise-flavored spirit crafted with alpine herbs and spices. Its rich, herbal profile features bold licorice notes balanced by subtle botanicals, creating a refreshing and slightly sweet drink. Perfect served with cold water for a classic, milky louche effect. "Louche" refers to the cloudy or milky appearance that forms when water is added to certain anise-flavored spirits, like pastis, absinthe, or ouzo. This effect occurs because the essential oils in the spirit, which are soluble in alcohol, become insoluble when diluted with water, creating a cloudy visual transformation. The louche effect is a sign of authentic, high-quality anise-based spirits.
