Moinoterra "Archanes" 2024

A single-vineyard red from the ancient wine-growing region of Archanes in Crete, this blend of 60% Kotsifali and 40% Mandilari comes from a dry-farmed, 22-year-old vineyard at 650 meters above sea level. The rocky, gently sloping site produces naturally low yields and a beautifully expressive wine. Aromas of cherry and sour cherry lead into a soft, medium-bodied palate with silky tannins, lively freshness, and layers of delicate red fruit. There’s an intriguing balance of Mediterranean character and Burgundy-like finesse—think Pinot Noir with a Cretan accent. Elegant, fresh, and quietly complex, it’s a great match for tuna, veal tartare, or simply a beautifully cooked cut of meat.
