Prieto y Prieta Mexican Corn Whisky

We love Mexican corn whiskies and are so excited about our newest find! This is a bold and deeply expressive whisky that reimagines tradition through the lens of Mexican terroir. Prieto y Prieta is crafted from 100% heirloom Oaxacan corn sourced from local farms. Made from a blend of white, yellow, red, and purple corn varieties, it captures the richness and diversity of one of the world’s oldest agricultural traditions. A true expression of rich, Mexican history and culture. 

Distilled in copper pot stills and aged for several years in a combination of French oak, ex-bourbon, and Mexican sherry casks, the whisky balances grain-forward character with layered complexity.

On the nose, expect roasted corn, cocoa, cinnamon, and subtle fruit, followed by a palate that leans savory and textured, with notes of grilled corn, dark chocolate, baking spice, and earthy undertones.

Rooted in Oaxaca’s 6,000-year history of corn cultivation, this whisky is both ancestral and modern, a vibrant expression of place that feels as much like a cultural statement as it does a spirit.
