New Dawn 2024 'Dark Leap' Red Blend

Crafted by acclaimed South African winemaker Rüdger Van Wyk, Dark Leap is a thoughtful, expressive blend that brings together the richness of Stellenbosch fruit with a modern, polished touch. The grapes are sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards and harvested by hand, then gently fermented with native yeasts to preserve freshness and a sense of place. Partial whole-bunch fermentation adds lift and aromatic complexity, while a short rest in neutral oak rounds out the edges without masking the vibrant fruit.

In the glass, it’s a supple, dark-fruited red, layers of blackberry, ripe plum, and blueberry jam glide into subtle notes of cocoa, clove, and dried herbs. The tannins are smooth but structured, supported by fresh acidity that keeps the wine energetic and food-friendly.
