Margins Neutral Oak Hotel Red

Margins Neutral Oak Hotel Red

A spirited and unconventional blend that defies categorization, this California cuvée from Margins showcases the art of thoughtful, instinctive winemaking. A mix of Grenache, Pinot Noir, Mourvèdre, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, skin-fermented Chenin Blanc, and even a small portion of “Mystery” variety - each component was fermented and aged separately using native yeasts, with no fining, filtration, or additions beyond a modest touch of sulfur. The result is a wine that is transparent in its expression, complex in character, and alive with energy. Layered aromatics of bright red fruit, dried herbs, and subtle spice and a balanced palate of zippy acidity, gentle structure and a slightly savory finish.

Born from the necessity of creative problem-solving during the 2020 harvest, this blend has become a canvas for experimentation and joy. Born from the necessity of creative problem-solving during the 2020 harvest, this cuvée has become a recurring canvas for experimentation and joy! A counterpoint to the producer’s more site-specific bottlings, it's truly a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and California's viticultural diversity. We love!
