Our favorite business associate gift of Holiday 2024! The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky is a blended malt produced by Matsui Shuzo, a Japanese distillery located in the Tottori Prefecture. This whisky is crafted by blending malt whiskies sourced from Scottish distilleries with Japanese whisky, and it is proofed down to bottling strength using volcanic-stone-filtered water, which is abundant in the region. 

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sweet oak and honey, accompanied by a hint of earthy peat

• Palate: Sherried malt flavors emerge first, featuring notes of raisin and cinnamon, followed by toasted nuts and vanilla pod.

• Finish: Subtle hints of fresh fruit sharpness and floral barley.

The whisky is aged in white oak barrels, which contribute to its balanced acidity, bitterness, and sweetness, with flavors of raisins, nuts, and vanilla harmoniously spreading throughout the palate. 

The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky is bottled at 43% ABV and is available in 700ml bottles. It has received mixed reviews, with some appreciating its balanced flavors, while others find it less impressive compared to other whiskies in its price range.
