Domaine de la Cadette Bourgogne Blanc
Domaine de la Cadette Bourgogne Blanc
Valentin Montanet, who now leads his family’s winery near the village of Vézelay in northern Burgundy, draws inspiration from the wines he remembers tasting in his parents’ cellar. The estate, nestled among limestone and marl slopes, has been organically farmed since the late 1990s and is known for its minimal-intervention, terroir-driven wines that reflect the rhythm of the land. Montanet’s approach centers on crafting expressive, approachable Burgundies that evoke a touch of old-world charm. He aims to capture what he calls a “simpler” era, when wines were lighter, less technical, and more about instinct than equipment. His Bourgogne Blanc, made from declassified Mâcon fruit, embodies classic Burgundian character: crisp, honest, and effortlessly enjoyable!
