Clemens Krutzler 2023 Gemischter Satz

A vibrant blend of half Weissburgunder, with equal parts Welschriesling and Gruner Veltliner and a dose of Riesling, interplanted, hand picked and cofermented. They are 60 year old vines planted east facing and in the iron rich soils of Ried Hummergraben in Eisenberg. Clemens preserves the vitality and freshness of these aromatic whites with whole bunch pressing. They are then aged on the lees for 10 months in used oak barrels giving the wine extraordinary texture and depth. Minimal suphur is used. Once bottled, it rests another 9 months in bottle before release. Clemens Krutzler has given us an exciting take on Gemischter Satz, full of complexity and resounding vitality.
