The Chichibu On the Way Floor Malted 2024 is the fourth installment in Chichibu Distillery's esteemed "On the Way" series, following previous releases in 2013, 2015, and 2019. 

This edition is particularly notable for its exclusive use of 100% floor-malted barley, a traditional and labor-intensive malting process that imparts a distinctive character to the whisky.

Key Features:

• Floor Malting Process: The barley used in this whisky is floor-malted at Chichibu Distillery, a method where soaked barley grains are spread on a concrete floor to germinate, requiring regular turning by hand. This traditional technique is believed to enhance the whisky's rustic and hearty flavors.

• Maturation: The whisky is aged between 7 to 15 years in a combination of cask types, including ex-bourbon barrels, chibidaru (modified hogsheads), hogsheads with Mizunara oak heads, puncheons, and wine casks. This diverse maturation contributes to a complex and layered flavor profile.

• Flavor Profile: Tasting notes highlight vibrant aromas of kumquat and loquat, complemented by honey and vanilla. The palate offers creamy textures reminiscent of condensed milk and yogurt, with elegant hints of plums and peaches, leading to a gentle, long finish.

• Limited Release: This edition is bottled at 54.5% ABV, with a total of 12,000 bottles released, underscoring its exclusivity and appeal to collectors and enthusiasts.
