Gañeta Txakolina (shown below!)

Txakoli (pronounced "chah-koh-lee") is a unique and refreshing white wine that originates from the Basque Country in northern Spain. It’s often associated with the coastal regions of Getaria, Bizkaia, and Araba. Txakoli, also known as Txakolina, is made primarily from the indigenous white grape varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza. Gañeta is a family-owned winery located in the renowned wine region of Getaria in the Basque Country, Spain. Known for its picturesque coastal setting and rich winemaking traditions, Getaria has gained recognition for producing high-quality wines, particularly Txakoli! It’s the perfect summer JAM because of its vibrant and lively characteristics. Enjoy a bouquet of crisp citrus fruits, such as zesty lime, lemon, and hints of grapefruit on the nose. One of the distinctive qualities of Txakoli is its slight effervescence or natural spritz. When poured into a glass from a height, it creates a delightful frothy foam that adds a playful and fizzy sensation to the wine! Gañeta Winery takes pride in crafting exceptional Txakoli wines that showcase the unique terroir and indigenous grape varieties of the region. The winery is committed to preserving the traditional winemaking techniques while embracing modern advancements to produce wines of exceptional quality and character.

The winery is situated in close proximity to the Cantabrian Sea, and this coastal influence plays a significant role in shaping the style of Gañeta wines. The maritime climate, with its mild temperatures, ample rainfall, and the cooling effect of the sea breezes, creates an ideal environment for grape cultivation. The vineyards benefit from the proximity to the ocean, which contributes to the distinctive freshness and salinity found in their wines.

Serve chilled and pair this Txakoli with seafood, grilled fish, pintxos, and other traditional Basque dishes! Let’s go on vacation! Salud!

Miles Garrett Sauvignon Blanc (shown below!)

Miles Garrett Wines is a charming, family-operated winery that takes great pride in cultivating their own grapes and olives. Their focus is on crafting wines that truly embody the essence of Humboldt County and the distinctive microclimate found within the Willow Creek AVA (American Viticultural Area). At their vineyard, they adhere to the principles of dry farming, relying solely on the natural rainfall to nurture our CCOF certified organic grapes. In the winter months, they cultivate cover crops, fostering a healthy ecosystem. To further enrich their vineyard, they welcome their farm animals at specific times to graze, fostering a symbiotic relationship with the land.

This Sauvignon Blanc is mineral-driven, vibrant and aromatic. Notes of lemon fruit, tropical fruits, grass, and herbs! Just another WIN for winemaker Miles Garrett - we haven't tasted a wine of his that we don't love!

Azahar Vinho Verde (shown below!)

Gota means "drop" - as in just a drop of wine! In addition to the cultivation of almonds and olives, the Moors brought a gift of fragrant orange trees to Portugal. When Spring arrives, these delicate white blossoms envelop the entire country with their sweet aroma, inspiring us to name their wine Azahar, an Arabic term meaning citrus flower. This wine embodies the essence of summer relaxation, with its vibrant and lively nature, delicate notes of orange blossom, refreshing green fruit flavors, and a vibrant mineral undertone.

As pioneers in the Vinho Verde region, Gota proudly holds the distinction of being the first producer of Atlantic Coast Vineyard Wine. Vinho Verde stands as a truly unique wine region in the world. Nestled in a lush and ever-green landscape, where temperatures remain moderate and rainfall averages 1500mm, the high humidity and nurturing hands of approximately 30 thousand small-scale growers cultivate their plots of land, where kiwi vines thrive alongside grapevines.

Their vineyards, located near the Atlantic Ocean, benefit from this extraordinary environment, resulting in wines that are characterized by their refreshing acidity, subtle complexity, and fruity vivacity. Azahar exemplifies the remarkable potential of this region, capturing the essence of what Vinho Verde has to offer. It is a testament to the harmonious balance of acidity, freshness, and fruitiness that defines their wines!

Wenzel "Native" Furmint (shown below!)

Prepare to embark on a philosophical journey with the story of Michael, the winemaker behind Wenzel wines. Michael's roots in winemaking run deep, as he grew up working alongside his father and grandfather in their vineyard, a family estate that dates back to the remarkable year of 1647. After pursuing winemaking studies, specializing in conventional techniques, Michael returned home to take the reins of the family winery. His wines were textbook examples of precision and deliciousness, yet something was stirring within him!

This Furmint is a captivating and distinctive white wine that showcases the unique character of the Furmint grape variety. Historically associated with Hungary's famous Tokaj region, Furmint has found a new home in Austria's vineyards, particularly in the region of Burgenland! We love this wine for its aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity! You'll notice notes of citrus fruits, green apple, pear, and apricot, along with floral and herbal notes that add an extra layer of complexity! Serve chilled and enjoy with oysters, grilled fish, pan seared scallops or a tinned fish date night! Cheers!
