2013 Pietro Rinaldi Barolo DOCG

2013 Pietro Rinaldi Barolo DOCG

Winery: Pietro Rinaldi

Region: Italy, Piedmont, Barolo

Varietal: 100% Nebbiolo

Alcohol: 14.5%

Why We Love It: We visited winemakers Paolo Tenini and Monica Rinaldi at their winery and (Anthropologie-worthy) Bed & Breakfast in 2016 - it’s one of the most beautiful places on Earth and we’ve been obsessed with them ever since. Pietro Rinaldi is a 4th-generation estate in the hills of Alba - the finest area for Nebbiolo thanks to its elevation high above the fog ("Nebbiolo” comes from the word “nebbia” meaning “fog”). This Barolo is elegant, bold and complex, with a beautiful brick-red color and low-key light body (although Barolo is often considered “full-bodied” due to its high tannins and relatively high alcohol - that’s what makes Barolo so unique - it’s the best of both worlds). This Barolo boasts flavors of dark cherries, white pepper, clove and juicy red raspberries. It’s the perfect bottle for special dinners - think family-style supper with truffle risotto, prime rib, and pasta Bolognese. Also makes a fail-proof gift for someone you need to impress. Ready to drink now and will also age well throughout the next 10 years. 92-point Barolo by Wine Enthusiast. Saluti!
