The Willett Distillery was founded in Bardstown, Kentucky by Thompson Willett in 1936 but his family's history of whiskey making goes all the way back to 1841. Thompson's grandfather was a master distiller at 5 distilleries, including the Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery in Nelson County, Kentucky. Thompson founded The Willett Distillery we know today on their family farm. The company is still family-owned today and is quickly becoming the most celebrated and awarded producer of bourbons and ryes. If you know, you know!
