Kleines Gut "Vin De Soif"

Kleines Gut "Vin De Soif"

Frederike and Daniel, the founders of "kleines gut" (translated as "little farm"), embarked on a winemaking journey fueled by their diverse experiences. After exploring wine regions from the Mosel to Burgundy and beyond, they returned to their roots in Stuttgart, Germany. There, they embraced their family heritage by leasing their grandfather's vineyards, utilizing their uncle's tractor, and setting up in a neighbor's house and cellar. Alongside starting their family, they established "kleines gut."

Committed to purism, they strive for balance in their winemaking, farming practices, and family life, focusing on mindful agriculture and a joyful existence. Their wines, made in the natural wine tradition, are free from additives, crafted solely from grapes and love. These wines are expressive storytellers, reflecting the year's conditions, the soil's character, and the passion of the people behind them. Frederike and Daniel's "kleines gut" is a testament to their dedication to authentic, environmentally conscious winemaking and living.

Württemberg, in southwestern Germany, is unique among German wine regions for its focus on red wines, accounting for about 70% of its production. The region predominantly grows Trollinger, a light red grape, along with Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). White wine grapes like Riesling are also cultivated. Vineyards are typically located on steep riverbanks, contributing to the full-bodied, fruit-forward character of Württemberg wines. While many small, family-run wineries define the region's artisanal winemaking tradition, cooperatives also play a significant role. The result is a range of wine styles, from light and fresh to robust and complex.
