In the 11th century, as William the Conqueror set forth on his English conquest, the commune of St Léger les Vignes saw the beginnings of winemaking. By 1180, their wines were renowned, chosen as the Mass wine for Notre Dame de Buzay Abbey and Villeneuve Abbey. Today, Domaine Les Hautes Noëlles, established in the 1930s, proudly continues this tradition. Nestled near Lac de Grandlieu, the estate benefits from coastal breezes. Jean-Pierre Guédon took over in 2010, followed by Juliane and Jean-Gabriel Tridon in 2020, tending to 26 hectares of vineyards with organic practices.
