Domaine de Fontsainte’s 2022 Corbières Rouge is a juicy, sun-kissed red from the south of France that WAY overdelivers for its price point. The Laboucarié family has been making wine in Corbières for centuries, and this bottle shows off their old-vine Carignan (planted in 1950!), blended with Grenache and Syrah, all grown on rocky, limestone-rich soils that bring a nice lift and freshness.
It’s bright and fruit-forward, bursting with cherries, blueberries, and a touch of cocoa and licorice as it opens up. The tannins are silky, the acidity is just right, and the finish is long and full of fruit. Fancy!
